A Summary of Insignificant Events

So it's not that I lied to you, I had every single intention of blogging left and right and being as obnoxious as I am physically and mentally capable...unfortunately, the fact that we were driving through the mountains coupled with my lack of enthusiasm, material, and energy concluded in ZERO posting.

Anyway, summary??  Sounds like we didn't do anything (which in theory, we didn't) so I won't bore you with the mediocracy of our trip.  I will say that I am SOOO excited for my sister's friends to come up for Easter because they're some pretty cool people.

I will also say, that after 10+ hours in a car...something...HAPPENS...to you.  Let's just say that about 10 hours in, with no books, caffeinated and no option except sleep (which evaded me anyway) on account of the lack of light...well...you just HAVE to do SOMETHING!!!  So, generally this ends up in psychotic dance parties while plugged into your iPod while looking like an absolute weirdo. My family WILL NEVER BE THE SAME!!!!  I've scarred them horribly, I'm afraid.

Basically at this point, I'm just blabbering on nonsensically because I  can't form coherent thoughts on the amount of sleep I'm on.

Plus, I have my sister home so I'd rather not waste my time here with YOU people! ;-)

Road trip quotes will come on Thursday...be prepared for AWESOMENESS!!!!

Peace Out!!!!!!!

The Funnies #11

I know it's Wednesday and we're not due for a "Funnies" post until tomorrow, but here's the thing with tomorrow....I WILL BE IN THE CAR FOR 10+ HOURS!!!  Why you may ask?  Because me and my family will be driving down to North Carolina to visit my big sister at BAC!  So obviously, tensions are high at the moment and will probably only escalate tomorrow! ;-)

Anyway, so basically this post is going to cover a few different things...just be prepared for short, random, humorous posts and pictures (from my phone, if I can figure the darned thing out!!) over this weekend.  Just a warning, there will probably be quite a few of them so your newsfeed might get just a little clogged with my awesomeness.  Sorry not sorry.

FUNNIES:
Lulu-Doesn't want to grow up.  Why?  The idea of doing "more harder homework" is distasteful to the kid.  Yes, this 4-year-old who has ZERO homework to begin with.  (Shaking my head).

Dinner discussion last night:
Apparently, once we're old and retired, I will be that old "grandmother to all" type who owns a little bakery, knows everything about everyone and who everyone loves.  And APPARENTLY Bella will be the creepy, "witchy" lady that all the kids dare each other to go touch her house and parents warn their children to stay away from.  Don't ask.  I couldn't tell.

Anyway, that's it for now.  I'm exhausted and I have to get up EARL-LIE in da MORNING to work out and do last minute packing for the trip.  HA!

Anywho, get ready for one friggen fun ride with the Faraj Family!!!!

Peace!!

Perspective

Perspective |pərˈspektiv|: "true understanding of the relative importance of things; a sense of proportion: we must keep a sense of perspective about what he's done."

Out of the three or so definitions I found of this word, I felt like this one is really the one I'm going for.

Perspective is going to a healing service praying for the possibility of being healed from my diseases (Type 1 Diabetes and Celiac...lookit up!) and seeing people, young and old, in wheelchairs, crippled, hunched over, etc.  Perspective is thinking about the rest of life with these diseases and then learning about an amazing woman, Alexandrina Maria da Costa, and thinking, "Wow.  My life is so easy."

Honestly, life isn't about taking stock of everything that's going wrong and wasting our lives away pining about how much better it could be.  Life is making the best of the worst situations, offering it all up to God and living life joyfully, no matter what.

Believe me, that's not easy...even when things aren't truly "awful."  Being happy isn't easy sometimes.

Anyway, that's my 2 cents!  Read up on Blessed Alexandrina...she's AMAZING!!!  AND!!!  She was born (TO THE DAY) EXACTLY 91 years before me!!! (March 30, 1904).  Anyway, PRAY FOR US BLESSED ALEXANDRINA!!  P.S.  I call that name for my first daughter!  So paws off, y'all! ;-)

Peace!

Blessed Alexandrina

#10: "Preppy" vs. "Peppy"

Wednesday morning (Before classes)
Bella: "GAH! GO AWAY, ALEX!!! You're so...PREPPY!! It's annoying!"
Me: "Don't you mean "peppy"?? And I am NO SUCH THING!!"
(argue argue argue)
Chica: "Wait, let me see..."
Me: "See what?"
(Chica observes my clothing)
Chica: You don't look peppy to me..
Me: Chica, what does "peppy" mean?
Chica: Umm...dressing like you're smart and stuff..?
Me: You mean preppy...

My family clearly doesn't know how to speak English...I've failed. (Sigh)

KEEP IT STRAIGHT PEOPLE!!!!

Insanity

My life.

That is what it's become at this point.  Utter and complete insanity.

I once saw a t-shirt that said, "Push yourself with intensity to the brink of insanity."  Or some such thing.  Anyhow, it's kind of become my life mantra.  Whether I'm working, running, studying, planning my schedule for next year....it's intense.

For instance, my schedule next Fall? (I registered for my classes today, so obviously, it's ON.THE.MIND).  On Mondays I have 3, long, intense, back-to-back classes (a Psych and a Bio and then a Chem lab...SHOOT ME) and Tuesdays I have two back-to-back in the morning (Soc. and Chem) and two back-to-back in the afternoon/evening (Chem Lab and Intro to nursing).  Luckily for me, Wednesdays and Thursdays aren't bad at all and Fridays I have NO CLASSES AT ALL!!!  The issue is I'm taking 3 science classes and two different labs.  Anyway, it's just going to be PSYCHO!!!

Honestly though, my biggest worry is WHEN WILL I EAT DINNER ON TUESDAYS?!?!?!?!  I HAVE 10 FREAKING MINUTES TO GET FROM CHEM LAB TO NURSING!! MY LIIIFEEE!!! Kidding.  I'm not all that worried (lies..I am...I like food...a lot).  Also, in case you were wondering, NO, I am not bipolar nor do I have multiple personality disorder nor am I freaking. (Yes I am...I'm getting old...things are changing...MY LIIIIFEEE!!!!)

Sorry, it's been a long day.  I apologize for the weirdness oozing from this post.

It's weird, the closer I come to graduation and going to college, things are just getting flipped around.  Some things I'm holding onto tighter than before, and others?  I'm already gone.

I lost my train of thought because I walked away from the computer for a couple of hours.

Let's put it this way, SENIORITIS HAS IT'S TIGHT GRIP ON ME.  I AM LOSING MY MIND!!  GOODBYE, DEAR WORLD!!!!

I apologize for just how many posts I post about either a) working out b) college or c) senioritis.  If this is getting old, well, suck it up or I am more than willing to take suggestions for posts!  Sheesh! ;-)

Peace!

The Era Of Brain Damage

H333Y! H0W R U?!? OMG! I LiKe LuV yEwWWw!!! L0L!

What. Is. That?!  I feel as though it's some alien dialect that no one can understand or comprehend!  With the exception of 13-year-old, teeny-bopper barbies that is.  Seeing it makes me get indigestion.  It makes me want to scrub my eyes out and use words like, "execrable."  Simply because I can and it makes me have some hope in the future for intelligent life-forms.

Honestly though, where does this come from?  And WHY?!  The numbers instead of letters?  Random and incorrect capitalization?  The HORRENDOUS misspellings?!  It makes me want to puke.  Honest-to-goodness puke.

I just want this to sink in with you all: there are real people who type like that.  Out there.  In the real world.  Here on earth.  Let that soak in.

....

Has it soaked?!  Good.  Now my saturated friends, NEVER let yourself become....THAT!!!

There is absolutely NO reason for it and the teeny-bopper phase has to end.  We must put an END to this atrocious reality with loquacious speech, fancy words, and intelligent thoughts.  That is the only way to slowly but surely return sanity to a world of misspellings and other hellish artifacts of an unintelligent age.  We must demand a higher way of LIVING!

Alright, inspirational speech is over.  Now admire this picture of a real-life BARBIE!!!!!!!!
Please, PLEASE do not sink to the level of lesser intelligence.  I'm not saying any of us are any better or worse than girls like the one pictured above.  Of course we must love and respect all human beings as they are the sons and daughters of God Himself.  The point I'm trying to make here is this: "sPEEkinG lyKe tHiZ d0es nt m8Ke yEww C00l!"!!!! Tu comprende??

Good.

Peace!!

Intervention!!!

Guys, I know I had that whole thing yesterday about an addiction and it was a good thing, NOT a crises, blah, blah, blah.  Well, that aside, I have another addiction...it's detrimental to my bank account and most likely my waistline...(deep breath) here goes: Almond Flour Banana Bread.  Judge me as you will....this is literally probably the most FAN-TAS-TIC thing I have eaten in my entire LIFE!! (OK, not really, but it's UP THERE!!!!) Pair it with some butter and some coconut milk??  Dear Lord have mercy on me....so. GOOD.

Here's the problem, almond flour costs muy, muy dinero.  It's redonkulous.  For real.  Here's the real issue, I guess:  Between me and my mom (mostly me)...we've gone through two loaves of this heavenly substance in TWO. DAYS!  Kid you not, it's THAT good.  Granted, they're small loaves, but still!!  The stuff is so flibbin good!

In my defense, it's sweetened with honey and contains "not one granola of sugar" (according to my mother, who actually meant "granule").

Anyway, someone needs to stop me because my mother is getting irritated because well...I'm eating all of her bread, and apparently this shows a lack of gratitude or some such thing.  In any case...SOMEONE GET ME OUT OF HERE BEFORE I EAT THE NEW LOAF COOLING ON THE STOVE RIGHT NOW!!!

Peace!!

P.S.  By the way, if you come over and expect me to share, you can walk your butt right back out the door.  My mommy says I can't share. ;-) True story.

Oh The Things Kids Do #9

I've decided, people are too funny to just have things that kids do, so (once again) I'm changing this, I'll probably just start putting up numbers because I'm lazy like that...but this is just going to be funny things people everywhere are saying.

So I guess you can view this as your weekly laugh?  I don't know.  There's some stupid people out there, might as well commemorate it by posting their idiocies here!

"Great BALLS of COW MEAT!!!" -My family (while eating meatballs)

"NO! Siri!! I'm not ALEX!! I'm Lulu! (turning to me) Siri is very very silly." -Lulu

"Gosh, we are just so DARN healthy it's disgusting." -Unnamed Member of my family

And thaaaat's what I got for right now.  Take it or leave it!

Peace

I'm Addicted...It's Not A Crises

I know, I know, I'm a horrible terrible really bad person who hasn't posted in forever.  Boo hoo! ;-)

You see, the issue  seems to be that I have a slight addiction.  No worries, no worries, you don't need to call the police on me or try and get me any sort of THERAPY or anything of that caliber.  In fact, this isn't necessarily a BAD addiction!

"WHAT?!"  You may be saying at this point.  Well you see, I've already told you about my fabulous plans to work out (running and strength training basically) a bunch and be fit and be happy and be even MORE subitooattractive (don't ask).  Here's what I DIDN'T plan on:  I'm addicted.  I love it.  I can't stop...I mean, it hurts like crazy when I'm actually lifting weights or running, but I LOVE it.  My best ideas hit me when I'm running and (and I'm not being masochistic here) I've never felt so good as I do with that shakey, shivery pain I get after I work my muscles (more like lack thereof).

So basically, I'm a freak of nature.  Begin judgement now.

Now STOP.  I'm winning because despite my psychotic attachment to this, when we're all 90 years old, I will challenge you to a race and THEN see who's laughing!!!!!

Kidding.  Anyway, my whole point in this is not to brag, but to explain my absence.  All this working out is stealing prime homework hours and soooo I'm getting behind and have no time to share my mindless, meaningless thoughts with you all.  I know, I don't know how you've survived at all without me.

Also, if you didn't already notice, the name of this is a play on words from a Ke$ha song (I'm addicted It's a CRISES My friends all think I'm CRAZY My judgement's gettin' kinda' HAZY...)  anyway.  Despite the fact that I still maintain that Ke$ha is a bizarre freak of nature, she has yet again lent me words that I would otherwise not have had.

That is all I have to say.

Peace

I Liveadsjhfjklasdjk

This will be hellaciously odd.  And I am sorry if it is scarring.  But I just went on retreat with my church this weekend and even with a double shot of espresso, I'm flipping exhausted and will probably be asleep by 9PM.

Actually, no, I'm too tired to even say much more at the moment, so how about this...I've acknowledged that I yet live...

I will have an actual post tomorrow, my dears, have no fear!

Peace!
